Tornado Touched Down In Fairfield County After Two Others Confirmed In Westchester, Rockland
A third tornado has been confirmed in the Lower Hudson Valley/Fairfield County area during Tuesday's severe storm. The latest twister the National Weather Service has documented after completing surveying on Wednesday touched down in New Canaan at 5:29 p.m. and went through Norwalk until 5:41 p.m. It has been rated as an EF1 Twister, with the EF standing for Enhanced Fugita scale. Twister With 110 MPH Winds Confirmed In Northern Westchester
A second tornado has been confirmed to have touched down in the Hudson Valley during Tuesday's severe storms that swept through the area in the late afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service said Wednesday afternoon that an EF1 twister touched down in Northern Westchester at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday in New Castle and lasted approximately 11 minutes, covering 3.75 miles. The recent rash of storm, winds and tornadoes in Connecticut has led to the indefinite closure of one of the state’s most popular parks. Officials announced that Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden may be closed through the fall due to the damage sustained in the recent storms, which uprooted trees and sent utility poles flying in the region. Four Tornadoes Confirmed In Connecticut
The National Weather Service has confirmed that two additional tornadoes made landfall in western Connecticut during Tuesday's intense storms, bringing the total number to pummel the state to four. An EF1 tornado hit Winsted with reported maximum winds of 95 miles per hour, traveling for almost a mile, uprooting trees and damaging all in its path. Two Tornadoes Confirmed So Far In Hudson Valley During Deadly Storm

The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes and two microbursts touched down in the Hudson Valley during the intense storm system that moved through the area Tuesday and resulted in the deaths of an 11-year-old girl in Orange County, 80-year-old woman in Rockland County as well as two adults in Fairfield County.
