: Man Injured In Kickball Game As Child Sues Bergen County Borough 12 Years Later
A 20-year-old man has filed a lawsuit against the borough of Little Ferry 12 years after a kickball game that he says forever changed his life -- for worse. Anthony Brian DiBlasio was 8 years old when he fell during the 2009 game at the Memorial School Gym Summer Recreation program, NJ.com reports. He hit his head on the gym floor and broke his two front teeth when another child jumped onto his head and shoulders, leaving him with unrelenting dental issues and nerve-related injuries, DiBlasio said. The mom of a former Rutgers University student who was struck and killed by a train after leaving a fraternity party has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the university and the fraternity, NJ.com reports. Authorities ID Jersey City Mom Who Died Hours After Infant
Both a newborn baby girl and her mom died after a home delivery in Jersey City over the weekend, authorities said. Sandra Provost, 41, gave birth to a baby girl who was pronounced dead at 33 Suburbia Ct. at 6:05 Saturday morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Provost was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she died that afternoon, Suarez said. The ex-girlfriend of a Phillipsburg man hid in the bathroom on a Pennsylvania inn to call 911 after he kidnapped and assaulted her during what she thought was a meeting about possibly getting back together, authorities said. Sparta's First ShopRite Will Be Its Largest Supermarket Yet
Sparta's first-ever ShopRite is set to open later this month. The 95,000-square-foot supermarket on North Village Boulevard will be the largest that Sparta has ever had, according to NJ.com. The completion of the grocery store, opening Oct. 23, and the construction of a 40,000-square-foot space for tenants mark the first phase of a three-part project. Phase II will bring 58 townhouses and an assisted living facility, and a park and 92 residential lots going up in Phase III, the project builder KLAE said.

S. Plainfield Cancels Labor Day Parade, Explosive Devices Found Near Route
Officials in South Plainfield Monday have cancelled a Labor Day parade and other activities over what officials described only as a "security concern." Officials did not immediately provide any information about the nature of the threat. A large police presence was seen Monday in Spring Lake Park and the parade route was closed off, according to a published report.
