Amazon Fulfillment Center Replacing Vacant Jersey Shore Sears Store
Amazon plans to open another fulfillment center in Central Jersey at the site of a vacant Sears store. The approximately 93,000-square-foot Monmouth County location — at Seaview Square Shopping Center in Ocean Township — is expected to open in October, Mayor Chris Siciliano told NJ Advance Media. “It’s a win-win for us and for Amazon," Siciliano told NJ.com. The former employee of a popular Montclair salon has filed a lawsuit alleging that the owner sexually assaulted her and then fired her after she complained about it. The woman -- identified only as "Jane Doe" -- says she was hired as a secretary at Bangz Salon and Wellness Spa on S. Fullerton Avenue in January 2018, then promoted to manager the following year. A man who was punched 12 times in the head by a former Camden police officer during an arrest was awarded a $300,000 settlement for a suit filed against the officer, NJ.com reports. Warren County Woman, 77, Dies Of Smoke Inhalation Days After Second-Story House Fire
A woman who was airlifted after being rescued from a second-story house fire in Warren County died from smoke inhalation Wednesday, authorities said. Firefighters rescued Mary Frey, 77, from the Washington Borough blaze, which broke out at 82 Youmans Ave. around 9 a.m. Saturday. Frey had been breathing independently as she was being airlifted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston — but later died due to smoke inhalation, NJ.com reports citing Prosecutor Jim Pfeifer. The cause of the fire remains undetermined but does not appear suspicious, the report says.

A pair of Jersey Shore restaurants owned by the same company are closed until Saturday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Asbury Park's Barrio Costero and Reyla -- both run by Culture Collected -- closed Wednesday after an employee at the Mexican joint tested positive, co-owner Chris Viola told NJ.com.
