Tick Bites Driving ER Visits To Highest Level In Years, CDC Warns
Emergency room visits for tick bites have reached their highest levels in nearly a decade, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
As of now, 71 out of every 100,000 ER visits in the US were related to tick bites, more than double the seasonal average of 30 per 100,000.
The Northeast has seen the largest spike, followed by the Midwest, as warmer weather and a milder winter have contributed to larger tick populations.

Egg prices across the U.S. are on a downward trend, according to the USDA’s latest weekly report released Friday, March 28, 2025.
Nationally, loose, large white eggs dropped $0.26 to $3.00 per dozen. In California, prices slid by $1.13 to $6.05, and in the Midwest, the drop was even steeper at $1.20. New York’s rate held steady at $3.86 per dozen.
