Lights Out! 700 Without Power In Hunterdon County
Nearly 700 Hunterdon County JCP&L customers were without power Tuesday afternoon, March 14 as a winter storm swept through the area. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph were expected through Wednesday, March 15, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty winds across the region March 13-15.AccuWeather According to JCP&L, the majority of the outages were in Lebanon Township (227); 135 were in Califon; 148 were in Delaware; and various other towns had between 30 and 50 outages. Restoration time varied between 3 and 5 p.m.

Vehicle Found Abandoned After Sussex County Crash
A crashed vehicle that took down a power line was found abandoned in Sussex County over the weekend, authorities said. The Byram Township Fire Department responded to the crash on Whitehall Hill Road alongside several local emergency crews around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29. After the power was cut by JCP&L, crews entered the vehicle with deployed airbags and found that it was empty. Thousands of JCP&L customers in Hunterdon and Morris Counties were without power on Tuesday, Oct. 25. 23,000 Without Power In Passaic, Morris Counties
A major power outage was reported Saturday, Oct. 8 in parts of Passaic County. JCP&L's website said nearly 10,200 people were without power in Morris County while 13,600 were in the dark in Passaic County. Power was expected to be restored around 2 or 3 p.m., according to JCP&L.

Victim Hospitalized After Hitting High Tension Line On Jersey Shore: Report
One person was injured after hitting a high-tension line on Saturday, Aug. 20 in Monmouth County, NJ Advance Media reports. The Mountain Lakes Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash near Route 46 west and Fox Hill Lane around 6:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, the company said. A utility pole was knocked down in Flemington Wednesday morning, causing numerous residents to lose power, authorities said. The telephone pole was knocked down on Bloomfield Avenue shortly before 10 a.m., according to the Flemington Borough Office of Emergency Management.
