Traffic Barely Getting By Due To I-95 Accident
A bad accident had traffic crawling along Interstate 95 in Prince William County Tuesday, Sept. 12. It happened on the northbound side near mile marker 148.8 just outside of Triangle and near near Locust Shade Park around 10:45 a.m. The north left lane, center lane, right lane, and right shoulder are closed. Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region
With a round of storms moving from west to east in interior portions of the region, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the area The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 across DC, MD, NJ, PA, and VA. Two carjackers and brothers were arrested after leading an Interstate 95 pursuit through Spotsylvania County with an 18-month-old child in the stolen vehicle, police said. Larique E. Leach, 18, of Maryland, and Larry Leach, 22, of Washington DC, were both being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail, Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Major Troy J. Skebo said. A reckless Prince William County driver who smirked at a Stafford County Sheriff's deputy was captured after a pursuit that reached speeds of nearly 110 mph on Interstate 95, authorities said. I-95 Express Lanes Opening This Week To Cut Commutes For Virginia Motorists
A fresh set of express lanes are making their Interstate 95 debut this week in northern Virginia. The 10-mile stretch of the new express lanes along Interstate 95 in Stafford will open to the public on Friday, Aug. 18. The lanes are the first phase of a two-phase project. The lanes start just past Route 610 in Stafford County, and extend to near Route 17, bringing a faster travel option to motorists. Victim Falls Off Bridge, Dies In I-395/I-95 Crash In Baltimore: Report
A person involved in a car crash fell off a bridge and died along Interstate 95 at Interstate 395 Sunday night, Aug. 13 in Baltimore, CBS News reports. The person was getting out of their car after one crash when another crash happened, and they were thrown off the bridge into the water around 10:25 p.m., the outlet said. A 29-year-old DUI driver is facing charges after he assaulted people trying to help him in a crash on Interstate 95, authorities said. Kevin J. A 31-year-old man faces charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated at over twice the legal limit on a highway in Westchester, police said. Port Chester resident Jesus Garcia Flores, age 31, was arrested on Sunday, July 23 on drunk driving charges, according to New York State Police.
