A Salvadoran national was formally charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and related charges stemming from a drunken crash that killed one passenger and seriously injured two others, prosecutors said.
Jefry Valdez-Cruz, 25, was arraigned in Suffolk County Court Monday, Nov. 24, in connection with a violent Oct. 6, crash on Bellport Avenue in Medford.

Carlos Gonzalez, Jr., a police officer in Fanwood and Scotch Plains resident, died on Wednesday, March 5 after a battle with lymphoma, the borough said. He was 35.
Gonzalez was born and raised in Newark, graduating from East Side High School, according to an obituary posted by the Borough of Fanwood.

The Columbia County resident has been obsessed with grilling and live fire cooking for most of his life, but really began honing his craft around 2010, he said.

A new barbecue spot has announced a Passaic County opening date.
All the Smoke will open Sept. 3 in Clifton, the restaurant announced on Instagram.
The menu boasts loads of smoked meats such as brisket, turkey, pulled pork, chicken, wings and more.
