A solo sailor was rescued by a luxury cruise ship nearly 500 miles off the US coast after his sailboat was disabled in harsh conditions, officials said. James "Weston" Higginbotham, a 20-year-old Auburn University student from Hoover, Alabama, was last seen on surveillance video in Kyoto, Japan, on Friday, May 29, during a family vacation.
